Jeep offering in 2013 a supermini-sized ‘B-segment’ SUV as Jeep’s CEO Mike Manley confirmed to Autocar “We’re already working on a project that will meet that need, and expect to have the car on the road by 2013.”
The partnership between Chrysler and Fiat would be very important as Fiat has motor that can support that segment like Fiat’s 1.3- and 1.6-litre JDTm diesel engines, and it’s 1.4-litre MultiAir petrols.
The new car would be based on the Fiat Grande Punto but converting by adding the spirit of Jeep from front-wheel drive to four-wheel drive.
The expected Jeep is likely to be in premium superminis category like the Mini Cooper and Audi A1.
