India’s legendary actor and automobile buff Amitabh Bachchan unveils the car in the capital today

New Delhi, January 05, 2012 – DC Design, India’s premier automotive design firm has taken a step beyond what it is known and revered for, with its reveal at Auto Expo today, of what is the country’s first ever sports car, the sleekly styled and superbly configured DC Avanti.

What makes this a special occasion is that the Avanti is not just a full road worthy prototype but one with production firmly pencilled in!

DC intends to go the way of so many Italian carrozzerias (like Bertone, Ghia, Pininfarina and Stola to name four) who not only styled, designed and engineered smashing sports cars but also went on to make them in limited production runs for sale to the general public.

Hyundai Motor America released a rendering of its proposed new U.S. headquarters building in Fountain Valley, California, its U.S. base of operations for the past two decades. The new building will represent more than a $150 million investment, the largest amount ever committed to an office building in the U.S. by Hyundai Motor Company.

“This new national headquarters represents Hyundai’s vision for the future and reflects the innovation and creativity that our brand has come to represent,” said Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik. “It also reflects our commitment to invest in and benefit the communities in which we operate around the world.”

Chrysler Group LLC Completes Final Performance Event; Fiat S.p.A. Ownership Rises to 58.5 Percent; Fuel-Efficient Dodge Dart to Be Revealed at NAIAS on Jan. 9

Chrysler Group LLC today announced that Fiat S.p.A.’s ownership interest in the Company has increased to 58.5 percent, from 53.5 percent (fully diluted), upon the Company’s achievement of the final of three performance-related milestones.

As provided in its June 10, 2009 Operating Agreement, Chrysler Group issued a letter to the U.S. Department of the Treasury stating that the Company has irrevocably committed to begin assembly of a vehicle with an unadjusted combined fuel economy of at least 40 mpg in commercial quantities in a production facility located in the United States. As a result, Fiat’s ownership interest increased automatically by 5 percent under the terms of the Operating Agreement.
